What makes Threefold School different?

1. Technology

Using the incredible eLearning tools now available, we are able to provide the rigor needed for learning math, vocabulary, spelling, and grammar in about 90 minutes each day, while freeing up the rest of the day for engaging, project-based collaborative learning.

2. Learn By Doing

We believe children learn best by doing. Whether it’s launching a startup business, creating a tidepool habitat, playing a musical instrument, painting a mosaic, or programming a robot, students build real-life skills in the classroom every day.

3. Guides, not Lecturers

We believe the learning experience is much richer when the teacher (called a “Guide”) offers insightful questions and facilitates hands-on learning. Guides use the Socratic method, always responding to students’ questions with new questions.

4. Learner Driven

Our students take ownership of their education and their peer relationships by agreeing together on rules of conduct, budgeting their own time, and working amongst themselves to solve problems. They learn to think independently, take responsibility, and embrace challenge.

5. Internships

Beginning in middle school, our students will obtain apprenticeships in a field about which they are passionate. They will intern with doctors, entrepreneur bakers, plumbers, attorneys, and graphic designers in order to gain real world skills and learn at the feet of a master.

6. Virtue

We encourage our students to develop personal virtues such as honesty, hard work, responsibility, kindness, and empathy. Armed with purpose and good character, we believe our students will launch into adulthood prepared to find their calling and change the world.

Do you believe in Heroes?

We do. We believe that a hero is an ordinary person who sees a need and acts creatively and bravely to shape events to meet that need, not shying away from obstacles to be overcome.

A hero gets up when she falls down, accepts responsibility, and keeps going when the task is hard.

Every hero is on a journey. Every hero faces trials and tests on her journey that must be faced with integrity and purpose in order to live a satisfying and fulfilled life.

At Threefold School, our goal is to prepare each learner for that Hero’s Journey.
